Does ACBOA sponsor or contribute to any candidates nationally or locally?
NO! ACBOA specifically does not ever contribute monetarily or in any other way to campaigns or any
other activities of political candidates, groups or parties! We serve the interests and needs of our
members ONLY!
What does ACBOA do?
The association promotes awareness and education of small business nationwide to foster involvement
in shaping the legislation that ultimately impacts those businesses. ACBOA continually provides
members with information and details of legislation before congress that will have a potential impact on
them and their companies.
Through surveys, polls and ActionEmail, ACBOA gathers opinions and
votes on these issues and presents the majority results to your representatives in Washington to make
our members combined voice heard! Our experienced, professional lobbyists present the majority
opinions of our members directly to involved senators and congressmen on a daily basis!
Where do my membership fees go?
Membership dues are used to pay the cost of association personnel, lobbyists, offices and employees, as
well as the cost to research legislation and produce all the surveys, bulletins, newsletters, member
materials and on and on, just like your business! Plus build and maintain this site and more.
As a nonprofit
association, in the unlikely event there is any excess left over, it would be used to improve and/or
expand services to members or, ultimately, be returned to the members.
What can I expect for my member dues?
The constant efforts of ACBOA to perform our mission for you! That is to Involve, Educate and
Facilitate your and your company’s participation in the national legislative process that so directly
effects you and your business! To continually research, lobby for and advise you regarding important
pending legislation in Washington, and to advise you of it and its potentials (plus and minus) for
Business.
We facilitate your voice being heard by your representatives in Washington as regards your
opinions and expectations of them regarding such legislation!
Why should I join ACBOA?
ACBOA simply makes it easy and economical for you and small business owners across the nation to be
kept up to date and involved in the decisions in Washington that can dramatically effect you and your
company! ACBOA provides you an easy one click stop on the web to get the news you need on pressing
issues and pending legislation at the national level.
If you are already heavily involved politically, we
congratulate you on taking advantage of your franchise! However, for the vast majority of businesses
who are not so involved, it is often due to the perceived or actual limitations they have in time, money
and/or knowledge to quickly find out what issues are before congress that may effect them.
Moreover,
many don’t even know who their senators or representatives are, let alone how to contact them and
what format to communicate in to best get their opinions and wishes heard. Plus, ACBOA, through it
Polls, Surveys and Action Bulletins, etc. can deliver our representatives in Washington the combined
voice and opinions of thousands of its members in a cohesive and effective way to assure those
representatives know what you think, and due to the size of our responses, those representatives realize
that those thousands of businesses (VOTERS) are watching what they do and care about the results.
